1. Amorbital, "Inside The Bodyshell"
SLOVAKIA - Taken from their 1998 album, Invidia. Available for Name Your Price on Bandcamp from Tryzna Productions. BONUS: Tryzna’s entire 64-release discography is currently available for .80 Euros. That’s less than a buck for this album, another one later in the show, several more Slovakia ‘90s death metal releases, and a slew of modern death and black metal.
2. Purtenance, "Crown Waits The Immortal"
FINLAND - Title track of their 1991 7" EP. The EP was included on Xtreem Music's 2011 remaster/reissue of their '92 classic Member of Immortal Damnation. Available on Bandcamp.
3. Lemming Project, "Washed"
GERMANY - Taken from their second album, Hate And Despise, released by Century Media in 1992. Cheap, quirky, old-school pummeling. These lyrics are a trip.
4. Torchure, "Abysmal Malevolence"
GERMANY - Excellent Euro-death with a hint of atmosphere. Vic Records reissued their Beyond The Veil album in 2013 with excellent old-school mastering. Available on Bandcamp
5. Sceptic, "Pathetic Being"
POLAND - Chunky ‘90s style tech death from the title track of their 2001 album, Pathetic Being. They're still going at it after all these years. Support them directly on Bandcamp.
6. Insidious Disease, "Unguided Mortality"
GLOBAL - Silenoz (Dimmu Borgur), Shane Embury (Napalm Death + 1,000 other bands), Marc Grewe (Leper Colony, ex-Morgoth), and Tony Laureano (Dimmu, Angelcorpse + 1,000 other bands) walk into a bar... Excellent record with a bearable modern production and great Dan Seagrave cover. Nuclear Blast 2020.
7. Shud, "World of Terror"
FRANCE - With a name like Shud, it's got to be gudd. Raw, energetic death/thrash from 1990. Pulled from a 2012 compilation of demos, rehearsals, and live recordings available on Bandcamp from Armée De La Mort Records
8. Apoplexy, “Confine Shadows”
SLOVAKIA - Another reissue from Tryzna Productions. The original 1993 Slovakian pressing on Station Master is an über-rarity. Someone paid a whopping $555 for a sealed copy on Discogs a while back. Luckily the rest of us can hear it for Name Your Price on Bandcamp.
9. Resurrection, “Torture Chamber”
USA / FLORIDA - Classic Tampa / Morrisound / Scot Burns crunch from 1993. Features Alex Marquez of Solstice/Malevolent Creation fame on drums. Could’ve sworn these guys were from New Jersey. Maybe it’s the Bobby Blitz-iness of the vocals. Regardless, all notes should be read in that voice from here out.
10. Sinister, “Putrefying Remains”
NETHERLANDS - Sinister recorded several versions of this track in their demo years. This one appeared on their eponymous 1991 7”. This specific mastering comes from Metal Mind’s weighty Altered Since Birth 1990-2010 box set which contained remastered editions of Sinister’s albums and EPS from that period, plus a single-disc collection of demos and rarities titled, Demo-nica. That set of demos was originally titled The Blood Past and released in 2009 on Goregiastic Records. Hammerheart later reissued it 2012.
11. Nameless [Germany], “The Unperson”
GERMANY - Raw power from 1994. Taken from their self-released full-length, The Final Decision. Metal Archives
12. Inner Sanctum, “Deathless Prophet”
URUGUAY - Inner Sanctum / Inner Sanctvm have been around since 1989. This is the lead track from their 1991 demo, Shadows In The Mirror. Swimming in Celtic Frost worship, but done very well. The band was founded by Heber W. Hammer, who according to Metal Archives was an ex-member of Uruguay’s first extreme metal band, Melkor Morgoth.
